A spate of newest auto industry development trends on autonomous driving, Internet of Vehicles (IoV), and electric vehicles, as well as automotive electronics including sensors, discrete power devices and micro LED have riveted great attention from visitors to 2019 Automotive World and Internepcon Japan running together January 16-18 at Tokyo Big Sight.
Taiwan's Quanta Computer unveiled Vehicle Server autonomous driving development kits at the show, including AD master, perception master, edge gateway and safety controller for Level 2-5 autonomous driving applications.
Quanta has cooperated with such semiconductor firms as Nvidia, NXP and Marvell and ADAS and sensor supplier RoyalTek in developing the kits.
In its keynote speech at the Automotive World, Japan automaker Toyota highlighted that the company will focus more on providing an MaaS (mobility as a service) platform for customers to enjoy greater mobility, freedom and pleasure.
In addition, Toyota also unveiled e-Palette as its future mobility service model, which can carry people, cargo and sell products. For instance, e-Palette can deliver the products ordered online to buyers and small farmers can sell products and have e-Palette handle express delivery. Toyota expects to launch the service at Olympics Tokyo 2020.
